Privacy Statement

The AMP PD partnership aims to protect personal information received in connection with the AMP PD Knowledge Platform from casual visitors to the public website and registered users. To setup an account in the AMP PD Platform, personal information may include your name, email, or other information that identifies you personally. We do not require you to register to visit the AMP PD website. However, access to data through the AMP PD Knowledge Platform will be granted only to registered users and governed by the AMP PD Data Use Agreement (DUA).

AMP PD uses web measurement and customization technologies to help our website function better for visitors and to better understand how the public uses the online resources we provide.

We store only the following information:

• the domain name from which you access the Internet
• the date and time you access our site
• the Internet address of the web site from which you direct-linked to our site

To further understand usage and make continuous improvements to the website, the AMP PD website uses Google Analytics to capture insights, traffic patterns/trends, and proactively monitor site performance. Google Analytics gathers information automatically and continuously. No Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is collected. Additionally, AMP PD participates in the Digital Analytics Program (DAP), in which Google Analytics data is collected from websites across the Federal Government.

This information is used to measure the number of visitors to the various sections of our site and to help us make our site more useful to visitors. AMP PD will retain data collected using the following technologies long enough to achieve the specified objective for which they were collected. Unless it is specifically stated otherwise, no additional information will be collected about you. We may also use cookies only for internal tracking and for providing a better customer experience.

The Office of Management and Budget Memo M-10-22, Guidance for Online Use of Web Measurement and Customization Technologies allows Federal agencies to use session and persistent cookies.

When you visit any website, its server may generate a piece of text known as a "cookie" to place on your computer. The cookie allows the server to "remember" specific information about your visit while you are connected.

The cookie makes it easier for you to use the dynamic features of webpages. Cookies from AMP PD webpages only collect information about your browser’s visit to the site; they do not collect personal information about you.

Persistent Cookies: We use persistent cookies to enable web analytics to differentiate between new and returning visitors. Persistent cookies remain on your computer between visits to our site until they expire.

When inquiries are e-mailed to us, we store the question and the e-mail address information so that we can respond electronically. By sending us an electronic mail message, you may be sending us personal information (e.g., name, address, e-mail address), subject to an official Freedom of Information Act request. We may store the name and address of the requester in order to respond to the request or to otherwise resolve the subject matter of your e-mail. Unless otherwise required by statute, we do not identify publicly who sends questions or comments to our website.

As the AMP PD website is updated, portions of the Privacy Statement may be impacted and need to be updated. Any changes will be effective immediately upon the posting of the revised Privacy Statement. AMP PD encourages all site visitors to review this page periodically for the latest information on our privacy practices.

The AMP PD website is fully compliant with the NIH Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) IT Governance and Policy. Information Technology (IT) systems owned and operated by NIH are assessed using Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) posted for public view on the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) website.

AMP PD works hard to prevent unauthorized accessing, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of the information we hold and publish to the website. We have many data security safeguards in place, employ software programs to monitor traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage, and we regularly review our security practices to proactively guard against unauthorized access. Further, information published to the website for public consumption is reviewed by a governing body to ensure information accuracy and integrity is upheld. 

The AMP PD website is maintained by the U.S. Government. It is protected by various provisions of Title 18, U.S. Code. Violations of Title 18 are subject to criminal prosecution in federal court. In the event of authorized law enforcement investigations, and pursuant to any required legal process, information from these sources may be used to help identify an individual.

AMP PD strives to maintain the security of public and personal information by using appropriate measures designed to protect our systems. However, we cannot guarantee the security of any information that is disclosed online. Consequently, we do not insure or warrant the security of any information you transmit, and you do so at your own risk.

Being a public-private partnership, AMP PD may share portal insights and personal information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of AMP PD if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary.

AMP PD complies with requirements for privacy and security established by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO).
